About me

Introduction

Hi, my name is Peter Raszka. I’m a guitarist, keyboardist, composer, performer, recording studio musician and a teacher from Kelowna, BC. My musical profession spans from performing and teaching different types of music including Classical, Jazz, Rock, Latin, Pop Fusion, etc.

I offer music classes in the Okanagan area for acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar (fretted, fretless), piano, & ukulele.

I have a Master's in Music Pedagogy and am a member of BCRMTA (Registered Music Teachers Association) since 2003.

Experience

During my 30-year career as a musician, I had the pleasure to share the stage with many great musicians including guitarist Les Paul.

I performed at many jazz festivals and concerts, as a part of a band and as a solo artist, while studying guitar with various prominent teachers among them jazz great Joe Pass.

My work continues as a teacher in my music studio in Kelowna, inspiring my students to have fun and enjoy every minute of playing music. Registration for piano lessons and guitar classes is ongoing throughout the year.

My teaching philosophy

I believe in following the students’ vision and aspirations so they can realize their full potential, rather than providing a “by the book” approach, tailoring each students' curriculum to reflect where one wants to go.

My passion of playing and teaching in many different styles of music give students a wide variety of choices.

I strongly believe that in order to touch a human heart or soul,

music must be played with enjoyment and fun.
